01 · Overview

What it’s about

The story

Socialist Croatia, 1962. In order to keep up with the newly appointed laws regarding the urbanization of rural areas, the national goverment constructs a concrete titan they call Block 62, in the middle of a previously uninhabited field, adveritizing it to potential newcomers as an utopistic home of the future. Things seem to be going fairly well until one of the tenants, Milan, a war veteran and an agent for the Yugoslav Secret Service, commits suicide, seemingly not of his own accord. Fearing what this could mean for the security of the state, the Secret Service sends in another agent, Ivan, to move into the housing block undercover, alongside his pregnant wife Milica, and report on any suspicious activity he comes across. Upon their arrival, the unexplained deaths and suicides begin piling up more and more, and one of the tenants, a sickly 12-year-old named Ana, starts exhibiting strange symptoms and seemingly supernatural abbilites.
