The story

9/11 Day chronicles the decades-long effort by David Paine and Jay Winuk to “reclaim” September 11 by turning it into a nationwide day of doing good, a grassroots effort that has grown into a movement thirty million strong. The film captures the ways young people in particular are finding meaning in an historical event many only know through memes, jokes, and conspiracy theories, forming a powerful bridge between those who vowed to “never forget” and the 100 million Americans born since the attacks who weren’t alive to remember.
